At the beginning of the year, everyone talks about setting goals, about the things we want to accomplish in that year.
However, by human nature, we are LAZY. That’s how our brains are designed to function. At the same time, the things we write down imprint themselves more strongly at the subconscious level.
This 2023 Challenge I’ve set for myself will surely seem interesting and fairly achievable if we truly want to progress. In addition to the usual goals I mentioned, I plan to do these three important things each month:
1. Read a book
2. Watch two good movies
3. Work out three times a week
Let’s go through each one because each of these goals comes with a personal touch.
2023 Challenge – Reading One Book a Month
It seems reasonable to me—not too much effort, but also not just one book a year. Whether it’s a thick or thin book, you can choose the books you want to read.
But my suggestion would be to read books that help you grow, whether it’s literature, cognitive development, emotional growth, or spiritual enrichment. What do you know will help improve your life?
In my opinion, reading is very important. Information helps us evolve, become better, smarter… it helps us grow.
2023 Challenge – Watching Two Good Movies
I’ve added two interesting movies to this 2023 Challenge. And I don’t necessarily mean those on the Netflix top list, Hollywood blockbusters, or award-winning films. More than that, each person defines what “good” means for themselves.
Here, I offer my ideas, and you are free to shape and transform them based on your personal goals. Perhaps you need to develop your creativity more, in which case movies from a particular genre could be very helpful. You know best what suits you!
For me, when I say two interesting movies, I don’t mean typical action films. I think of movies that bring life lessons, a bit of psychology, or concepts and ideas that make you ask questions. Movies that offer a different perspective on life. Two movies a month seems like a fairly easy goal to achieve. We just need the desire to watch two interesting movies that can help us further in our relationships with others or ourselves.
2023 Challenge – Working Out Three Times a Week
For me, working out can mean the following:
Playing ping-pong, soccer, walking around town or in the park, jogging, or participating in other seasonal sports, like skiing (since it’s winter).
The essential idea is that any activity that gets your body moving can help. You choose the form of exercise or workout that suits you and your needs. Maybe you go to the gym, or you jog in the park. Maybe you cycle or take long walks. As long as you’re moving, it’s an important thing.
Ideally, three times a week, you’d engage in some form of exercise or movement. That’s my goal, and I’m suggesting it to you as well.
In Conclusion: Do You Have a 2023 Challenge? What Are You Planning to Do for Yourself This Year?
Take a moment to think about it. For yourself, for your soul, for your spirit, for your body. What will you do this year? Will you commit to achieving goals like the ones I suggested? It’s your choice. I’m sharing these recommendations because I know how much they can help. They help me, my mentors, and my colleagues who also do these three things, and it has helped them tremendously.
In the spirit of this 2023 Challenge, I’ve filmed a video summarizing all these thoughts, which I hope motivates you as much as it motivates me!
